Hi, I’m Dominik — founder of HelperPlanSG.
When I moved to Singapore with my Singaporean wife, I saw up close how central foreign domestic workers (FDWs) are to family life here. I also saw something else: the system works, but it’s far from perfect.
In our own journey — starting a life here, growing our family, raising three young children — I came to appreciate both the blessings and the frictions of the FDW system. Families rely on helpers to keep everything moving. But often, communication is strained, expectations aren’t aligned, and tensions quietly build.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
It Started With a Simple Idea
My wife and I began asking a question:
What would it take to help more families — and more helpers — live and work together in peace?
We spoke with agencies. We listened to employers.
And slowly, we started creating something — not a business, just a solution.
Templates.
Simple, printable schedules and task plans. No buzzwords. Just clarity and structure.
They took off. Thousands of families used them. Helpers were more confident. Employers were less stressed. Agencies noticed fewer complaints.
But life isn’t static. And paper can only go so far.
Then Came the App — Built With the Same Heart
While building HelperPlanSG, we were also building our family — our three children now fill our lives with joy, questions, and a daily reminder of what really matters.
We want a home where our kids feel safe.
Where they’re supported to grow into whoever they want to be.
And where the adults in the home — all of them — can thrive in harmony.
